Fiona Loham

After qualifying in 1986 from The Middlesex Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital school of Physiotherapy, Fiona worked at the Home and Hospital, Putney in neuro rehablitation and moved onto Queen Mary's Roehampton to do 2 years in the NHS receiving training at the National Limb Fitting Centre in Amputees and then in neuromuscular physiotherapy with training through the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapist.

Fiona then moved into private practice whilst training and competing for the British Biathlon Team (nordic skiing and shooting). She completed her membership to the Society of Orthopedic Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Academic and Practical Sports Physiotherapy at the London Hospital Medical School whilst working with the local Shinty team in Fort William, Scotland in 1993.

In 1994 Fiona went to work in Colorado, USA, continuing her studies in muscle imbalance and movement dysfunction, neurodynamics, deep tissue and visceral release, joint manipulation, Performance Stability and the Golf Matrix (risk assessment for sports). She worked in a wide range of settings with a wide range of age groups and as a avid sports person worked with many people in athletics, running, triathlon, road and mountain biking, skiing and golf. She completed the foundation in Gyrotonic (www.gyrotonic.com) in 2006.

Fiona returned to the UK in 2006 and moved to Kent in 2007 to be closer to her family and has been busy expanding her practice since then. As a Manual Physiotherapist she uses an integrated, whole body, multi system approach (joint, soft tissue and neural mobilisation) specializing in complex pain and movement dysfunction (treating back, neck and limb pain) and following it with stabilization and movement retaining to minimise risk of re-injury.

Fiona also does home visits, rehabilitation and Gyrotonic and can offer hydrotherapy at the the Weald Leisure Centre.

In May 2008 she is starting a postural stability exercise class which will be a very comprehensive class covering stability of the spine, girdles and lower and upper limbs as a very affordable way of rehabilitating patients with pain and dysfunction.
